(Passion Shields, book 1)
She clutches at control to cover
her flaws. He wants to strip her bare because she's beautiful.

Selina Moss hides a secret beneath her controlled happy exterior. Her body is covered in scars and she's never revealed them to anyone. She's not beautiful and she doesn't want pity. However, it's her wedding night and husband, Benjamin Moss, is determined to strip down her barriers.
Benjamin is not playing fair, not when he's deploying breath-stealing seduction as well as mind-melting sex toys. But will he still want her when she bares all?

(Passion Shields, book 2)
Her body is his to command, her heart his to win.
Selina Moss bared her body to her husband and allowed him to see her and touch her like no one else has ever done. When a member of the family visits, she realizes there is still so much about her husband she doesn't know.
Benjamin's remorse about his family history drives his actions. Selina is his present and he'll do whatever it takes to protect her from being contaminated by his past, including revealing the shame that burns his soul.
But for Selina, finding out about Benjamin's past means investing emotionally in a man who's only going to walk away once their temporary arrangement comes to an end. Is she ready to bare her heart to him along with the secrets of their past?

(Passion Shields, book 3)
His love possesses her. Will it protect her too?
Benjamin Moss has proven how much he cares about his wife, Selina. She pushed him to shred his iron control and bare his soul toher. In return he's earned her much guarded heart as well as her body.
But her past has finally caught up with her and scores will have to be settled before they can have a happy ending. Can Benjamin's love protect her from those who seek to destroy both of them? Or will she finally lose the man who's possessed her body as well as her heart?

Bethany-Kris's Reviews of the Passion Shields series

Scars Review
Four our of Five Stars

Selina Moss keeps a firm grip on the things she can control, including what the people around her can see of her. That's about to change and in a big way, considering her husband Ben is all about dominating when it comes to control, and more than anything, wants his wife to bare all. With the scars Selina hides revealed, will he still find her as beautiful as before?

I think it's important to note before anything else, this is a short story that begins a series. There are questions the reader has about these two people that remain unanswered until the reader gets further along into the second and third book. Don't open up this shortie with the idea you're going to come out with all the t's crossed and i's dotted, because that isn't the case.

I also went into the series knowing this, so it was okay for me.

Scars opens up to Ben and Selina's wedding celebration--or after, at the dinner and dance. It revolves entirely around that one night and Ben seducing his wife into baring her entire body to him, scars and all, which is something she's never done. Selina fully believes her flaws can't make her truly desirable to her husband, which I think, frankly, many women can relate to. I appreciate that. We get a hint of a back story about Selina's brother Kaya and the reason why she's marrying Ben, which isn't entirely for love. These are some of the things followed in the second book.

For Scars, we get a great deal of heat and chemistry between the couple. It's more BDSM than it is vanilla. It's a good building block for what's to come. It showed they had potential to grow into something more than just the face value of what we were given, and I trusted Ms. Taye to follow through on that.

Secrets Review
Four of our Five Stars

Benjamin and Selina Moss' story continues in Scars, the second book of the Passion Shields series. It picks up close to where we left off in Scars. Feelings are beginning to develop a little more strongly between the couple, but the secrets that each is hiding from the other could be the one thing that will tear them apart. Ben with his family history, and Selina with her reluctance to share the truth of just how she got her scars.

In Secrets, the emotions really get kicked up a notch or two. There's a lot of growth for Selina, because while she's realizing her feelings for Ben are steadily turning into more love than lust, she's also still battling inner demons all the while. Her fears can almost seem suffocating to her, and Ben is the only one who is able to help her manage them. He masters her physically and emotionally--it's a great look at how strong his character really is. I very much enjoyed reading him. Ms. Taye did a fantastic job with his character. The heat and chemistry in Secrets gets kicked up a notch as well. The passion between the two is hard to deny. Selina is a born submissive, but she's still learning to let go of some of her ... stubbornness. The office scene made my fave list of erotic scenes, and hell, Ben wasn't even in the room--not physically at least. Well done.

I have to say, I was really cringing hard for both of them when the secrets finally made their way out. After all, everything comes out in the wash, as the saying goes. Selina earned a bit more of my sympathy, though. Because really? It was a double whammy on her all the way around the board.

Here's hoping Scores settles all.

Scores Review
Four our of Five Stars

In the final installment of Ben and Selina's story in the Passion Shields, there are a few scores left to settle. They may love one another dearly, but sometimes love doesn't fix and shield all. Both Selina and Ben have pasts that catch up to them in Scores. Ben's "uncle" (no spoilers) comes into play with his White Supremacy attitude. Selina's ex-husband, the one who caused her to live forever with her scars, also comes into play with his own plan to get Selina back ... although his plans for her aren't exactly nice. Once again, this couple finds themselves needing to hand complete trust over to one another to get through this wave safely ... and together.

Out of all three books in the series, Scores is my favorite. I'll lay that out there right now. Not only is Selina pushed to an extreme, but in my opinion, Ben was, too. That's not to say he wasn't before, but I think Scores was the first time it seemed as though he was being pushed out of his comfort zone. I'd explain why, but that would spoil a few things. Ms. Taye finishes with a bang in this book and I felt everything--except for maybe what happens to Ben's "uncle"--was tied up in a neat, hot little bow. Try to have a fan or water on hand for the threesome scene.

All in all, I thought the series was sexy, well-written, and great. The pages were never filled with useless information to pump up the word count, as it wasn't needed. Each book was perfectly fine at the length it was, because by the end of it, all of the questions were answered. Those t's and 's I mentioned in my first review were crossed and dotted. True to Ms. Taye's style that I've really come to enjoy, the Passion Shields leaves me wanting to grab the next book from Kiru.

Since I know exactly which one is coming next, my hands are very grabby.
